Lawn Irrigation

If I have a Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) on my lawn irrigation system, do I need to change it?

It was roughly 20+ years ago that the State decided to require RPZ's due to the selling and installation of automated fertilization systems being connected directly to the irrigation systems. The State felt that the PVB didn't offer sufficient protection.

We don't believe that there is a "Grandfather" clause and we have required that PVB's be replaced with RPZ's since the code changed.
The plumbing code currently reads that an RPZ be installed on all lawn irrigation systems.
